Social Justice: A Virtue of the Individual, Or A Curse of the Collective?
by  Bobby Garner

How could you possibly go wrong with a banner that reads, "Social Justice"?

If you have been paying attention to the mechanations of deception as I am exposing them, you will know that there are ways a-plenty.

Deception always strives to impart the most positive attributes of it's theme. Therefore, a mere definition of the words does not suffice. To understand the meaning, we must look at the ways in which the words are used. More importantly, especially in the case of Social Justice, we must ask "Who is using it, and what is their agenda?" as determined by their actions, not necessarily their words.

Social Justice is one of those things which seems to be left in large measure to perception. Wikipedia has this: "Plato formalised the argument that an ideal state would rest on four virtues: wisdom, courage, moderation, and justice. The addition of the word social is to clearly distinguish Social Justice from the concept of justice as applied in the law... "state-administered systems which label behaviour as unacceptable and enforce a formal mechanism of control may produce results that do not match the philosophical definitions of social justice". Yes, adding the word "social" introduces a new dimension which Plato failed to address. Is someone tampering with the true meaning of Justice, as in Justice for the accused, a majority of one before a jury of his peers? And there is yet another problem which may be even more revealing of the real agenda behind the combination of the words Social Justice. Continuing the above statement: "...and from more informal concepts of justice embedded in systems of morality and which differ from culture to culture and therefore lack universality." Aw yes, the "Global Village", how careless of me. Too many individuals believing too many different things are not easily controlled. It becomes much easier when the "village" raises the child, so that all children are all programmed, eeh, taught to believe the same thing.

What are the children taught at the village school? Well equality of course, being "one with nature", finding no fault with others, and not elevating one above another. Even animals have equal rights! So, the short story is that Social Justice "levels the field (countryside) where everyone competes equally with other creatures for the limited resources. Since the animals lack the natural ability (cognitive process) to compete effectively against human growth and expansion, there must be a class of elite "knowing ones" to oversee the adminstration of "Social Justice" in order to insure that the competition is, well, "fair".

So, what are the "philosophical definitions of social justice"? Michael Novak addresses some of the issues in his "Defining Social Justice", and I highly recommend reading it. However, it seems to fall somewhat short of mentioning even the possibility of an ulterior motive, which of course allows him to avoid divisivness accusations.

"Health is a state of complete physical, mental, social and spiritual well-being, and not merely the absence of disease" (World Health Organisation definition). Equity and Social Justice This position of the Green Party in New Zealand illustrates that the standard of health now includes spiritual and social issues and your acceptance or rejection of them is the main factor in determining the state of your health.

In very much the same way that we are loosing the ability to determine the state of our own health, and deciding for ourselves when to seek medical attention, we are also loosing the ability to determine our own "social and spiritual well being". We are loosing our individuality to the bestialized, communitarian, socialist welfare, global village, groupthink herd mentality.
