Notes on this research

This page contains links to a few of the thousands of groups and organizations which are characterized as being NGOs, PPPs, Non-Profit and Multinational Corporations, or having connections to same. Of those in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) as of November 2011, there were "144 organizations in general consultative status, 2,408 in special consultative status and 984 on the Roster." according to a U.N. report. (E2011INF4.pdf) "Currently there are 3051 NGOs in consultative status with the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), and some 400 NGOs accredited to the Commission on Sustainable Development (CSD), a subsidiary body of ECOSOC."(un.org/esa/coordination/ngo/faq.htm) Apparently Sustainable Development is not the biggest fish in the pond.

The ECOCOS is organized under the U.N. Department of Economic and Social Affairs (DESA). They say on their website: "We service the 3,500 non-governmental organizations (NGOs) in consultative status with the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC), and all other NGOs seeking to work with the UN." emphasis added

One of those 3,500 plus NGOs is the World Alliance for Citizen Participation (CIVICUS).

"CIVICUS: World Alliance for Citizen Participation is an international alliance of members and partners which constitutes an influential network of organisations at the local, national, regional and international levels, and spans the spectrum of civil society. CIVICUS includes the following in its definition of civil society: civil society networks and organisations; trade unions; faith-based networks; professional associations; NGO capacity development organisations; philanthropic foundations and other funding bodies.

CIVICUS has worked for nearly two decades to strengthen citizen action and civil society throughout the world, especially in areas where participatory democracy and citizens' freedom of association are threatened. CIVICUS has a vision of a global community of active, engaged citizens committed to the creation of a more just and equitable world." - About CIVICUS:

You will notice that while "citizen" is given prominence in the name of this organization, the citizen is conspicuousely missing from their "definition of civil society".

As you study these organizations, compare them and the people involved with them, to Alice Bailey's description of the "New Group of World Servers".

Multiply this measure of power and influence times 3,500 and you will get some idea of the potential for "change", and why we are hearing so much about it these days.

You may also appreciate my latest attempt to illustrate the organizational structure wherein all of this change is taking place, and why your defacto government appears to be so out of touch. It may clear up some confusion about all that is going on in the world today, all in the name of "World Citizens".
