TORTURE OF PRISONERS IN IRAQ

MAY 8, 2004. You have to understand that, when prisoners are taken and put into compounds, the standard is: what information can we get from them?

Information=intelligence.

Therefore, the people in charge of the tightest and toughest parts of the prisons are:

CIA.

Military intelligence.

And yes, "interrogation specialists" from private contractors---which means corporations.

Now we have Congressional hearings. Let's see whether these obvious facts come out. Let's see whether any CIA employees are brought in and grilled under oath, along with military intell employees and private interrogators.

What are the odds of this happening?

"Sir, you say you have been trained in the art of torture by the CIA, that you work for the CIA. What training did you receive? Where are your training manuals? What do you do when you aren't torturing prisoners? Where else have you tortured people? For how many years? How do you like your work? What can you tell us about electric-shock devices? Have you used drugs on prisoners? What drugs, specifically? Hallucinogenics? What poisons?"

Or, "Sir, you work for the security division of X Corporation. We understand you are trained in the art of torture. Who gave you that training? How much do make a month? Does the CEO of your corporation know what you do? How could he not know?"

Then we might begin to fill in the picture. The larger picture.

"Oh, you say you trained death squads in Honduras? And also in Iran, at the time of the Shah? And you tortured people in South America? Brazil? Argentina? And you instructed people on how to torture prisoners in Afghanistan?"

There is a lot to find out.

I'm not betting that John Warner, the chair of the senate committee that questioned Rumsfeld today, has any intention of delving into reality.

Torture is standard practice in a war. The public is not supposed to know this. In the current situation, the public is supposed to conclude that a few temporarily insane US soldiers, under the direction of a few wacko army officers, embarked on an aberrant course of behavior.

The public is supposed to believe that, as in the recent TV series, The Agency, the CIA is made up of good guys who occasionally have to slap someone around, when their own agent's life is on the line.

Right now, for the most part, we're hearing about prison scenes of humiliation. A man, for example, whose culture dictates that he is never to appear naked in front of another man, is forced to disrobe...

This is on the order of passing hate-crime laws and punishing people for calling other people names---when, in fact, there are far worse acts of real violence taking place.

"Oh my God, look. Those people are all naked in a pile, and their religion dictates that..."

Yeah, sure.

What about the prisoners who were beaten to death, who were hit with electric shocks, who were drugged to their eyeballs and lost half their brain cells?

Another matter the committee will ignore: which psychiatrists are lurking in the background who have written papers on how to "extract information" from prisoners, who give the CIA a stream of advice on methods?

Step by step, this leads us back to MKULTRA.

THE SHREDDING OF 9/11 EVIDENCE

MAY 7, 2004. First, check out this rather incredible story.

F.A.A. Official Scrapped Tape of 9/11 Controllers' Statements

NY Times May 6 (excerpt)

WASHINGTON, May 6 — At least six air traffic controllers who dealt with two of the hijacked airliners on Sept. 11, 2001, made a tape recording that day describing the events, but the tape was destroyed by a supervisor without anyone making a transcript or even listening to it, the Transportation Department said today...

The taping began before noon on Sept. 11 at the New York Air Route Traffic Control Center, in Ronkonkoma, on Long Island, but it was later destroyed by an F.A.A. quality-assurance manager, who crushed the cassette in his hand, cut the tape into little pieces and dropped them in different trash cans around the building, according to a report made public today by the inspector general of the Transportation Department.

The inspector general had been asked by Senator John McCain, chairman of the Senate Commerce Committee, to look into how well the Federal Aviation Administration had cooperated with the 9/11 Commission.

The quality-assurance manager told investigators that he had destroyed the tape because he thought making it was contrary to F.A.A. policy, which calls for written statements, and because he felt that the controllers "were not in the correct frame of mind to have properly consented to the taping" because of the stress of the day.

Okay. We are talking about “at least six” air traffic controllers and two of the hijacked airliners. Presumably, all the taping activity occurred in one location on Long Island.

Did all six controllers make one continuous tape?

Doubtful.

In which case, a number of tapes were destroyed.

And their remains were scattered in different trash cans.

The above story does not mention tapes that may have been made, in real time, as the hijackings of the two planes proceeded. I don’t know standard procedure in these situations, but it seems to me that air-controller headquarters do, in fact, record their conversations with pilots in the air---especially when those pilots are aboard hijacked planes.

Did the controllers actually talk to the pilots?

Or to hijackers?

It appears there may be two completely different sets of tapes: those made during the hijackings and those made afterwards by the controllers.

We are led to believe these controllers did not make written reports. I find that amazing.

This has all the earmarks of an extensive cover-up.

And the FAA manager says he destroyed the tape(s) because he felt the controllers were under too much stress to give informed consent to the after-taping. Gee, that sounds like something a lawyer would claim for his client, in a situation where the client has been charged with a crime.

And it is claimed that no one ever listened to these tapes. I guess the manager destroyed them as quickly as possible.

What about the people who assisted in the making of these tapes? Or did the controllers, all of them, simply set up a tape machine on their own in a room and start talking? If so, that sounds like they had something very important to say and wanted to get it on the record.

Who, in law enforcement, is talking to those controllers now? Why are we not hearing from the controllers? I guess they have gag orders.

One would have to be a complete idiot not to suspect a grand cover-up.

And yet…no major media outlet is yet screaming bloody murder.

Is it possible that the taping was supervised by someone from law enforcement? If so, the manager who destroyed the tapes should be in very hot water now. So far, it appears he is not. Maybe he received “higher orders” to get rid of the tapes, because they contained info that could blow the roof off 9/11.

The most stunning event since Pearl Harbor, and the manager shreds crucial evidence. An FAA quality-control manager. Quality-control. Under what standard chain of command was this guy operating? I thought quality control was merely about inspecting the competence of others.

Apparently, since 9/11, these controllers have been interviewed by law enforcement, and they have given official statements. What are the odds that these statements do NOT contain all the info laid down on those tapes?

There is no word that the manager has been charged with a crime.

THE CONTROLLERS WERE UNDER TOO MUCH STRESS TO GIVE PROPER CONSENT TO THE TAPING. Who the hell is kidding who?

THE COP AT THE CRIME SCENE WAS UNDER TOO MUCH STRESS TO GIVE A CREDIBLE STATEMENT.

THE SOLDIER AT THE TORTURE PRISON WAS UNDER TOO MUCH STRESS TO REPORT ACCURATELY ON WHAT WENT ON.

THE FBI AGENT WAS UNDER TOO MUCH STRESS TO REMEMBER WHAT HE SAW AT THE MURRAH BUILDING.

Yeah. Sure.

“See, the actor who plays one of the main roles on the daytime soap was too stressed out to give a good performance, so we took the tape of his scenes and we crushed it and we scattered the pieces in garbage cans all over the studio.”

“The Zapruder film of the JFK assassination? We took out some frames because we thought Mr. Zapruder’s CAMERA was so stressed out that day that it recorded things that didn’t actually happen.”

9/11 ONE MORE TIME

APRIL 10, 2004. Below is a brief excerpt from an interview with David Ray Griffin, author of a recent book, THE NEW PEARL HARBOR. The book examines various holes in the official 9/11 scenario.

I’ve printed here Griffin’s remarks about the September 11th plane crash at the Pentagon. What Griffin is saying not only challenges conventional descriptions, but apparently illustrates how it is possible to float a gigantic lie in full view of many witnesses and professional observers. It is exactly this possibility that causes many people to say Griffin and those who agree with him are completely out of their minds. So be it.

I prefer to think that we ought to work this from Griffin’s perception. In other words, don’t automatically dismiss him because IF HE’S RIGHT EVERYONE WOULD KNOW IT BY NOW.

There are thousands of things people ought to know but don’t. And they don’t because they don’t trust their own minds.

If Griffin is right, the entire 9/11 scenario is a hoax. And many of us have been saying that since 9/11.

Theologian Charges White House Complicity in 9/11 Attack

There’s nothing the least bit wild-eyed or hysterical about David Ray Griffin. In person, he’s disarmingly calm, and speaks in the unflappably precise and deliberate style of a lifelong academic. Which is exactly what Griffin is. A respected philosopher of religion at the Claremont School of Theology since the 1970s and longtime Santa Barbara resident, Griffin is now raising questions that even President Bush’s harshest critics are afraid to think, let alone ask aloud.

In his latest book, The New Pearl Harbor — released just two weeks ago — Griffin all but accuses the Bush administration of taking a dive on September 11 and giving Al Qaeda terrorists an unobstructed shot at the World Trade Center. According to Griffin, a case can be made that the Bush administration arranged the attack, or allowed it to happen. He is aware that he may be dismissed as a conspiracy nut, but given the “transcendent importance” of the issue, Griffin is willing to assume that risk and has taken to repeating Michael Moore’s line on the subject: “Personally, I’m not into conspiracy theories except those that are true.” I met with Griffin over coffee to discuss his book and the September 11 investigation…

GRIFFIN: …the crash at the Pentagon. The physical evidence contradicts so violently the official account, that the Pentagon was hit by a Boeing 757 — Flight 77, that is. The physical evidence, photographs, and eyewitness testimony say that the Pentagon was hit by something that caused a hole no larger than 18 feet in diameter. The story the Pentagon put out, and was published by the Washington Post, was that the hole in the Pentagon was five stories high and 200 feet wide. If you look at the photographs taken by Tom Horan of the Associated Press — that’s just not the size of the hole.

But if the hole was only 18 feet wide, it had to have been created by something other than a Boeing. Whatever went into the Pentagon pierced six reinforced walls. This was the west wing, the part of the Pentagon being refurbished and reinforced. These walls were extra strong, and yet whatever it was went through six walls creating a hole about seven feet in diameter in the sixth wall. This had to have been something with a very powerful head on it. A Boeing 757 has a very fragile nose, and would not have pierced through all those walls; it would have been crushed by hitting the Pentagon. And given that it only penetrated these three rings, the rest of the aircraft would have been sitting outside on the yard. And yet the photographs taken just as the fire trucks got there — very shortly after the crash — show no plane whatsoever.

What do they show?

They show no aircraft whatsoever. And everyone agrees on this. The official story is that the whole aircraft went inside the Pentagon. The problem with that — the firefighters in there would have seen the airplane. They would have seen the engines, they would have seen the aluminum fuselage, but they reported nothing. Ed Plower, the fire chief, when asked what he saw, said, “I didn’t see any big pieces, no fuselage, no engines, no nothing.” But about a month later, when asked he said, “Oh yes, I saw all that.” His memory had had time to be refreshed.

If what you’re saying is accurate — that it was a missile — then what happened to the plane and all the people on it?

That’s why I stress I’m not trying to give an account of what really happened. I have no idea what happened to Flight 77.

CONDI RICE AND THE COVER STORY

APRIL 9, 2004. To divert attention from a real story, one needs a cover story.

Sometimes, the cover story is floated as if it has just been discovered, after some hard digging. And against some powerful resistance from those entrenched in power.

You know. "Wow, we found this memo buried deep in the files and it says X,Y,Z. We confronted an administration official with it, and he admitted Q,R,S. He didn't look happy. We scored big."

Then this unhappy administration team that has a new arrow in its side defends itself, and the debate goes round and round.

It's a thing of beauty.

Well, think about Condi. After much resistance, the White House finally lets her trudge up to the 9/11 hearing and testify in public. That resistance created the "firestorm story of the week." All the major TV networks are breaking into regular programing to deliver her words.

A very nice set-up, to drag in everyone. The stage is set.

Condi then takes her seat and, as I predicted, mostly gives out with oatmeal mush. Except, we learn---heavens to Betsy---that there was a memo presented to the president at one of his daily briefings...and the memo was titled: OSAMA BIN LADEN PLANS ATTACKS INSIDE THE US. Or some such.

Wow o wow. Looks like the administration really did have warnings prior to 9/11. Or some such.

This memo becomes the headline story generated by Condi's testimony.

It becomes the COVER STORY.

Why bother?

Because, if any sane person looks at 9/11, he soon realizes that, among other things, it was a crime scene that was never tackled by pros attempting to find out what really happened.

Therefore, there is no real evidence that bin Laden was behind it.

Whereas, there is much evidence that administration officials, at the very least, let 9/11 happen.

And the propaganda op is? "We have to keep cementing the idea of bin Laden as the criminal mastermind behind the whole event."

Well?

THAT was the subliminal outcome of Condi's appearance before the commission.

"Ooooo. Memo. Bin Laden plans attacks inside the US...and the White House never really acted on it...blah blah..."

It LOOKS like the commission scored a coup.

But what really happened, like a piece of sleight of hand, was: the public now believes, more firmly than ever, that bin Laden was the mastermind of 9/11.

This outcome was achieved indirectly, by making, at first, the story all about White House resistance to Condi testifying. With everyone's attention focused on THAT, they slipped in the closer. The memo. The title of the memo. The message.

It's a fairly standard intell propaganda op. And it works.

ARMAGEDDON FOX TROT

APRIL 8, 2004. Articles in Harper's and the Atlantic Monthly reveal that Cheney and Rumsfeld have been key players, since the Reagan administration, in a secret plan to provide continuity of government in case of a nuke attack from the USSR.

Talking bunkers and huge installations where major gov honchos would go. From which they would take over the reins of power without a Congress (too much trouble).

The plan was activated on 9/11. Bush was flown to Offcutt AF base in Nebraska, where, get this, he found a charity event was underway featuring biggies from US corporations. Quite a coincidence.

In fact, the US Business Roundtable has managed to obtain secure comm links to the fed gov for major CEOs. These links would be used in a dire emergency, when a terrorist attack decapitated the fed gov.

Like Reagan, the current Bush prez has very strong ties to certain militant end-times fundamentalists (not talking Muslims) who see biblical predictions of the end of the world as imminently factual.

And we just happen to be awash in Mel these days---the billion-dollar movie about the last hours of Jesus, who, according to the end-times folks, will take up to heaven all true born-agains in the 11th hour---while the rest of us suffer great tribulation below.

Try this on for a subliminal equation: The Passion of the Christ=the end of the world= the Armageddon Plan for continuity of government= the 9/11 commission=the election=the chaos in Iraq= the "dark forces of Islamic jihad"=Easter=Bush, the chosen one=the "moral threat to the way of God" (gay marriage)=the confirmation of life on Mars (a fact that threatens the very world view of many fundamentalists)...

Such equations are meant to mobilize the hearts, minds and souls of true believers in the Great Crusade: a myth for the ages.

At a higher level, this particular equation is meant to polarize the nation into true believers vs. those who automatically reject the "wisdom" of such Armageddon imagery.

This neatly falls out into Demos vs. Repubs...and you have a subliminal subconscious force that gets people to move into one camp or the other.

Thus preserving the illusion of choice and open competition.

Called an election.

Symbolically, Condi Rice plays the role of the "former slave" who "now sees the wisdom of her masters."

In case you hadn't noticed, all this is a stage play, co-written by secret societies and our own minds.

The subconscious equations are not meant to be logical; they are meant to be impactful.

Meanwhile, of course, we are smack in the middle of the prez campaign between two members of Skull and Bones.

Million and millions of people who surf the internet and listen to programs like Coast to Coast AM are becoming aware of this fact, and the spillover into the mainstream is happening as we speak.

Of all people, the furrowed-browed Tim Russert recently asked Bush about Skull and Bones, and the president declined to comment.

Declined to comment? A sitting president who took a sacred oath to the most powerful secret society in America at a university which functions as a prime feeder line into the CIA, an agency once run by the president's father, refuses to comment?
